The episodes of this season were originally released as a collection of 26 individual DVDs and VHS released by Viz Video and Pioneer Entertainment between December 13, 1998, and January 23, 2001.[4][5]

Between 2006 and 2008, Viz Media re-released episodes of the season in three DVD compilations. The first twenty-six episodes of this season were released on DVD on November 21, 2006, with "Beauty and the Beach", being skipped. The second US season came out on November 13, 2007, with "Princess vs. Princess" and "The Purr-fect Hero" being moved onto the third part, to match the airing order. The third and final part was released on February 12, 2008.

Pokémon: Indigo League (known at the time it was first aired simply as Pokémon) is the first season of the dubbed version of the Pokémon anime. It follows rookie Pokémon Trainer Ash Ketchum, his Pikachu, and his friends Misty and Brock as they travel across the Kanto region. The subtitle "Indigo League" is not used within the episodes, but was later added by the DVD releases and the official website.

In the United States, the first 40 episodes aired in syndication in 1998, while the remaining 12 episodes were picked up and aired by Kids' WB!, starting with The Problem with Paras in 1999. The season began with Pokémon, I Choose You!, which originally aired on September 8, 1998, and ended with The Breeding Center Secret, which originally aired on May 1, 1999. In Canada, the series was aired by YTV. This season skips EP018, EP035, and EP038, which were all banned from airing (the first one of these was eventually dubbed later with the title Beauty and the Beach, but was pulled off from air again and it is not considered as part of any dub season).

While Pokemon Origins seems the first in order, the Indigo League Season (82 episodes) is the first to watch [1]. This season is where Ash got Pikachu as he collected Gym Badges from the Kanto region.

Released after the Pokemon movie Mewtwo Strikes Back, the Orange Islands (36 episodes) is the second season aired in 1999. Here, Ash collected the Gym Badges of Orange Islands to join the competition.

Aired in 2000, the Johto League Champions (52 episodes) feature adventures of Ash, Misty, and Brock in Johto to Cianwood City. In this season, Ash collected Gym Badges and joined the Pokemon Sumo Conference. Ever wondered who's the best Pokemon player of all time?

Advanced (40 episodes) aired when the Pokemon Jirachi Wish Maker season was released. Here, Ash tries to compete in the Hoenn region with Brock and new characters like May, a novice Pokemon trainer, and her younger brother Max.

Advance Battle was released after the Pokemon Movie Destiny Deoxys. The Advanced Battle season (54 episodes) features Ash earning two badges and securing his spot in the Hoenn League Championships, and May trying to win the final ribbon.

This season has 50 episodes released the same year as Pokemon the movie: Zoroark Master of Illusions. Ash and his mother went with Professor Oak to the Unova region uncovering new Pokemons and competing with Gym Leaders of Unova.

The Ultra Legends Pokemon season (54 episodes) features Ash completing three impressive trials in the Alola region and continuing the search for Z-Crystals. In this season, the students of Pokemon School also become Ultra Guardians. 041b061a72
